This Home On Lydia Street In Louisville, KY’s “Germantown” Is Cute As A Speckled Pup

Yes, speckled pup came immediately to mind when I first stepped inside.

After all, there are very few things as cute as a speckled pup.  Unless you find it under a red wagon.

This home is located in the heart of Germantown.  If you are not familiar with the area, Wikipedia defines it as “a general term for an area of Louisville from the original Highlands in Louisville to St. Joseph and Bradley neighborhoods that were predominantly settled by Germans.”

A large number of “camelback” and “shotgun” homes sprang up in the 1890’s, and today Germantown has the largest concentration of shotgun style homes in Louisville.

Today many of these homes have undergone renovation, and one of the great appeals to this area is its location.  It is close to great nearby restaurants and all the fun activities going on in downtown Louisville.  And of course, if you work in the city,  you have a short commute to downtown.

This home on Lydia Street offers replacement windows, hardwood floors, a very nice kitchen, and even has an oversized two-car garage.  The large dining area could serve as a family room, office, or even a third bedroom.
